VEDIC MEDITATION HELPS YOU TO DO LESS AND ACCOMPLISH MORE
ABOUT VEDIC MEDITATION

Vedic meditation is a simple, natural, and effortless technique that anyone can practice sitting comfortably with their eyes closed. Using a personal mantra, you will learn the easiest meditation style designed for people with active and creative lives. If you have a mind that can't stop thinking, this is perfect for you, as it aligns with the mind and body's natural tendencies without exertion or control, allowing whatever naturally happens to flow as you meditate. Vedic meditation promotes deep relaxation, balance in mind and body, release of stress and fatigue and increased creativity and cognition.

WHY SHOULD I LEARN?

In today's fast-paced world, we are skilled at doing, striving, controlling, and exerting maximum effort to achieve minimal productivity. This constant busyness is immensely stressful for our minds, bodies, relationships, and environment. With other styles of meditation, there can be more to be done: focus, concentrate, contemplate, breathe, and sit cross-legged. Vedic Meditation offers an alternate and effective way to counter stress: do less and accomplish more. Close your eyes for 20 minutes and let go, transcend, and "go beyond" your thinking mind and repetitive thoughts and patterns. Change your life from the inside out, open your eyes to new perspectives and possibilities, and re-engage in the world with renewed stability and inspiration.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Vedic meditation is an effortless transcending technique that uses a personal mantra to de-excite the mind, and is practiced twice daily for 20 minutes. This meditation is always taught in person across 4 consecutive days of up to 90 mins. The first session is a private 1x1 session to receive your personal mantra, and on days 2-4, we refine your practice, take you through the mechanics of meditation, discuss the science of stress, and explore Vedic wisdom. We meditate together each session, and by the end of the course, you will be a confident and independent meditator. You will become part of our worldwide community with access to lifetime support, free group and wisdom sessions, and the ability to re-sit the course for free as a refresher anytime with Yeojin or any affiliated teacher worldwide.

WHERE DO I BEGIN?

  • How is Vedic meditation different from other styles of meditation?
Unlike other meditation styles that often involve concentration or contemplation, Vedic meditation is a practice of easy effortlessness. There is no need for focus, control or sitting in a cross legged position. You can sit upright in a way that feels most comfortable and supported for you, whether on a chair, bed, floor, or even on a plane. The use of a personalised mantra allows you to transcend thoughts effortlessly, without any strain or control and offers a simple way to calm the mind and transition between mantra, thought, and thoughtlessness.
  • How often do I have to practice to feel the benefits?
Vedic meditation is a 20-minute practice twice a day, which is about 3% of your day. There are 1440 minutes daily, so we are talking about 20 minutes twice a day to invest in yourself. After your first session, you will begin to feel a difference in your mind and body, and the benefits continue to exponentially increase as you make meditation a twice-daily regular practice. The benefits of Vedic Meditation really start becoming less about the eyes closed meditation experience and more about the eyes open awakened state.
  • Can Vedic meditation help with stress, exhaustion and burnout?
Yes, and many studies show its benefits with stress. Personally, Vedic meditation has helped me enormously as I had chronic insomnia and was diagnosed with PTSD, generalised anxiety disorder, depression, and disordered eating when I learnt to meditate about 10 years ago. I understand first-hand how debilitating stress and fear can influence all areas of our lives. It's important to remember that while meditation can be a powerful tool, it is essential to seek professional help, including making necessary changes to your lifestyle to support your healing journey and remember to be gentle with yourself. Once you have learnt to meditate, Vedic meditation can be easily practiced anywhere and anytime to give your mind and body deep rest. Releasing the build-up of stress and fatigue allows you to move out of the constant fight or flight state (sympathetic nervous system) and into the optimal relaxation response (parasympathetic nervous system). Studies have shown that a transcending technique can reduce cortisol ( the stress hormone) by 30% more than sleeping.
  • What if Vedic meditation doesn't work for me?
Vedic meditation will always work for everyone, and it's been around for 5000 + years in the ancient Indian texts (Vedas). Some will feel benefits straight away, sometimes spectacularly, others of us have to wait longer. It's still working but taking longer to bring results to our conscious awareness. Anytime someone feels it's not working, we provide free support and guidance for life.
  • Where do you teach and can I learn online?
Courses are currently offered in St Kilda, Melbourne; see course dates. Private courses for individuals, couples, families, friends, and groups are available upon request; please send a message. Vedic meditation is always taught in person over four consecutive days of up to 90-minutes, where you will be taught how to correctly implement the technique in your daily life. Vedic meditation cannot be taught online, as we believe personal interaction with an experienced teacher face-to-face is the best way to learn meditation.
  • What is a mantra?
The word mantra comes from the ancient Sanskrit language and translates as manas = mind and tra = vehicle. In Vedic meditation, we use the mantra as a vehicle to draw the mind inwards. The mantra is a Beeja mantra. Beeja translates in Sanskrit to seed, so you're, in a way, planting this seed and letting it grow and evolve within you. Receiving a personal mantra and correct instruction for Vedic meditation gives you a deeper experience and allows you to advance your practice over the years.
  • What is Vedic?
Vedic is an English version of the Sanskrit word ‘Veda,’ which means " knowledge." It comes from ancient India and is not Hinduism; it predates all religions. It’s a 5000+ year-old body of knowledge governing the laws of nature that gave us Yoga, Vedic meditation, and Ayurveda.
  • What is the course investment and ongoing support available ?
The fee includes the four-day in-person course; at the end, you will be a self-sufficient meditator, no more relying on apps or guided meditations. You will gain a meditation teacher for life, so at any time, if you have fallen off the bandwagon or need any refinement, you may reach out. You may also resit the course at anytime for free. Once you have learnt to meditate you may join our free weekly group + Vedic wisdom + creativity sessions and be part of a wider Vedic meditation community. See course investment here.
  • What is transcending and how does it feel?
To transcend means to go beyond, and in Vedic meditation, we go beyond the thinking mind, our repetitive thoughts, and limiting patterns. It feels like a long exhale out, a deep letting go, returning to something familiar that was forgotten. This state is neither dream, waking, nor sleep; you're aware but deeply relaxed, entering another realm of consciousness: the transcendental state. Here, we move from doing to being, and it's an natural, restful state of relaxed awareness.
  • I'm too busy, and my life is too hectic to learn to meditate. Shouldn't I wait until my life seems easier to learn?
The purpose of Vedic meditation is not to experience 20 minutes of bliss when we close our eyes, though it can be very blissful at times. But when we open our eyes and get back into the world, we truly experience the benefits of our regular meditation practice. This practice was designed explicitly for householders, very busy people like you and me, who live active lives, not for monks who live in temples or caves. There are 1440 minutes daily, so we are talking about 20 minutes twice a day to invest in ourselves and allow us to make clearer, sharper, more rational decisions in our daily lives. You act, not react, from a place of deep rest, and rejuvenate the entire body on a deep cellular level. "I have so much to accomplish today that I must meditate for two hours instead of one." Gandhi
  • Is Vedic meditation a religious practice?
No, Vedic meditation is a simple and effortless mental technique that allows the mind to naturally settle down and the body to fall into deeper states of rest. You don’t need to believe in anything or change your religion for the technique to work. Vedic meditation originated in India, so we acknowledge the tradition with a ceremony of gratitude in our first session. However, anyone can practice Vedic meditation and experience the benefits no matter their religious, spiritual, or non-religious backgrounds.
  • Can I book a private course ?
Yes, private courses for individuals, couples, families, friends and groups are available on request in St Kilda Melbourne or in your home or office based around your timing requirements. Please allow 4 consecutive days of up to 90mins to complete the course. The course investment will differ and depend on the requirements, please contact to discuss further.
  • Can meditation help me through life transitions, as I navigate change and uncertainty?
Meditation brings calm in the face of change. The world around us is always changing and if we don’t have the ability to adapt, we will suffer. Vedic meditation can help us cultivate an increasing ability to connect with our 'fine level of feeling', that quiet place where our deepest truth can be heard loud and clear. Life has two parts or aspects, inner and outer. The outer is the temporary and ever-changing aspect - the inner is the permanent, never changing aspect. That inner, never-changing aspect is blissful and always available, and we make contact twice a day for 20 minutes during meditation. Overtime, we will notice the willingness to step into the unknown with excitement rather than fear.
  • What are the benefits of Vedic Meditation?
Vedic Meditation enhances how you feel in the world and creates resilience to make clearer, sharper, more rational decisions. You act, not react, from a place of intelligence and intuition while being more emotionally in tune with yourself and those around you. Some of the Benefits Vedic meditation students have experienced include: Reduced stress, anxiety, and fatigue Feeling calmer and clearer with self-led motivation Improved concentration, focus, and memory leading to greater productivity Ability to stay calm under pressure with greater problem-solving capabilities More energy throughout the day energy and greater resilience Regulation of the nervous system and ability to navigate the ever-changing world Ability to let go, transform, and adapt in everyday life Greater self-awareness, self-confidence, and self-love Better quality of sleep and relief from insomnia Normalisation of blood pressure & cholesterol Improved relationships with self and others Greater creativity and expression of one’s true self Feeling happy for no reason
  • How can Vedic meditation support creativity?
Creativity comes from being clear-minded, calm, and rested. After a 30-year career in fashion design, I am passionate about exploring how meditation can further support creativity. Once we de-excite the mind, we can tap into our enormous potential for creativity.  We are all inherently creative, yet many of us fail to harness this incredible power. Creativity is not just about art; it's a force that shapes every aspect of our lives, from problem-solving and innovation to personal development and self-discovery. Vedic meditation allows us to delve into the source of creativity itself through a regular practice of transcending. It's a state where ideas and inspiration flow effortlessly, and we connect with a deeper intuition, transcending the limitations of the analytical mind to access more insight and creativity. “The creative process is a process of surrender, not control.” Julia Cameron, The Artists Way
