PLEASE NOTE: www.yeojinbaedesign.com is Yeojin's new website.
Just over a year ago designer Yeojin Bae unveiled her self-titled label and her capsule collection of vintage-inspired feminine dresses. Within that time the designer has set up an enviable list of stockists worldwide, including Barneys in New York, Liberty and Matches in London, and Boutique One in Dubai. In March 2007, Yeojin was awarded the Tiffany and Co Young Designer of the Year award in Australia. This was followed by Marie Claire awarding Yeojin the “One to Watch Award”. Recently the UK Sunday Times selected Yeojin Bae as the only Australian among an international list of boutique brands to watch. Yeojin has been featured in US Harpers, US Elle, Harpers Bazaar Dubai, Australian Vogue, Harpers Bazaar and Marie Claire. Yeojin’s philosophy is to make clothes that are wearable and desirable. The collection is edited down to become a seasonal capsule wardrobe highlighting the designer’s love of refined tailoring with meticulously detailed dresses. Having graduated from the Whitehouse School of Fashion in 1992, Yeojin went on to work as a senior designer for many Australian labels including Saba and Charlie Brown as well as internships in New York with Marc Jacobs and Anna Sui. In March 2008 Yeojin opened her first retail venture, a lofty salon style Showroom in Prahran, Melbourne in which she can showcase her full collection in more intimate and personal surroundings. Her vast personal experience over the last 14 years has allowed Yeojin to fine tune her craft and continue to make clothes that women want to wear. QUOTES: US Harpers Bazaar – “ Its not Every day that a fledging designer gets it right first time around, but Melbourne designer Yeojin Bae can make that claim.
